Online Poker Cashouts
US Player Cash Out Status
The activities of the Department of Justice in the USA on Friday, April 15th
shook the online poker world and left many players wondering what would happen
to the money in their bankrolls. Although PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker assured
players that their money was safe, when players tried to cash out they were met
with pop-up notices informing them that withdrawals by US players were not
available. The big question on every players mind was just when would the poker
rooms start processing cash-outs? Many online poker players depend on their
winnings to pay living expenses, being able to cash-out was, and is, vitally
important.
In a bid to aid players in receiving any funds that they had on deposit at
PokerStars, the US Department of Justice has agreed to release the
www.pokerstars.com domain name for use by PokerStars outside the US. And welcome
news to US players is that under this agreement, per the DOJ, “PokerStars has
been granted express permission to use this domain to facilitate the provision
of real money poker services outside the US, and is now able to pay out player
balances to its former customers in the US.
One bright spot for those players who played tournaments and had tournament
tickets in their PokerStars accounts is that PokerStars has converted all
tournament tickets into equal cash value and added that cash to players
accounts. That means if you played a satellite and won a $215 SCOOP (Spring
Championship of Online Poker) ticket, your account will now reflect the addition
of $215 to your bankroll balance. When logging into the cashier, all US players
are met with a pop-up notice that says: “Due to government regulations, you have
to cash out all the funds in your account.” With a total amount in your account
to be cashed out listed. Players who deposited via e-check will still be able to
submit an electronic withdrawal request or they may request a check to be
mailed.
At this time, PokerStars is the only online poker room to be processing
cash-outs.
When accessing the
Full Tilt Poker site, US players are still met with
the following pop-up notice:
“Unfortunately, due to recent actions by the U.S government, Full Tilt Poker
is unable to accept ‘real money’ players from U.S. players at the current
time, and this includes any deposits or withdrawals. We are working to
resolve these issues as soon as possible and will keep you updated as
information becomes available to us.
"We are deeply sorry for this inconvenience, but these events are beyond our
control. Please be assured that your funds are safe, and we thank you for
your patience while we do everything in our power to have your money
returned to you as soon as possible.
Please contact support@fulltiltpoker.com for more information.”
No word yet on when or how players will be able to cash out on
UB Poker and
Absolute Poker.
For those of you lucky readers who live outside the USA and can still enjoy
your favorite pastime at PokerStars;
get your account now so you can get in on the SCOOP events
starting soon. With the US grinders out of the action, there is no better
time for you to make a big score with less competition at the Spring
Championship of Online Poker!
