US Players CAN Still Play Poker Online

Play US Friendly Sites

Online Poker took a dramatic hit in the USA on April 15, 2011, and online poker players around the world are wondering what the future holds. Will poker ever be legalized and regulated? Will players in the USA be able to enjoy their favorite games online again? From all the latest reports, we think the answer is yes.

Poker players are not sitting still when the government intervenes and takes away their right to play poker in their own home. They have joined the PPA and other movements to fight to have their poker freedoms restored.

While many USA players may feel the US government is against them and their favorite poker game at every turn, there is hope on the Hill. In the aftermath of Black Friday several politicians, including Representative Joe Barton (R-TX), have been pushing bills to legalize and regulate online poker. And a couple of months ago, supporters of legalizing online poker launched a new coalition aimed at building grassroots support for legalizing the game.

The new coalition is called FairPlayUSA based in Washington, D.C., and led by executive director Marisa McNee. She is joined by a board of advisers that includes former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge, child-safety advocate Parry Aftab, and poker professional Greg Raymer. Big dog casino brands Ceasars and MGM are providing the initial funding for the group.

So what does this all mean for online poker players in the USA? It means that there is a huge amount of support and pressure on the government to regulate and legalize online poker so we can all get back to the tables.

Even in this climate of poker rooms too scared to accept US players, a few still are brave enough to buck the US government, like Luvin Poker, Lock Poker, and Cake Poker. That is great news for us online poker players who won’t stand for the government telling us what to do and trying to take away our freedom to play poker online!

Not only do these poker rooms welcome US players, but they also give us great first deposit bonus deals and have super player promotions. And if you are skittish about depositing, just get an account and play in Freerolls until you feel comfortable. Not only will you see what great poker rooms these ‘US Friendly’ sites are, but you will also see everything they have to offer US players before depositing!

Don’t get discouraged, just because the DoJ says we can’t play, doesn’t mean we can’t! Until the US government gets smart and legalizes online poker – you can still grab a chair and get in the game at Luvin Poker, Cake Poker, or Lock Poker and stand up for your right to play poker online!
