PokerStars Attempts New Guinness World Record December 27th

A year ago this month, December 2008, PokerStars decided to hold a special tournament with the goal of snagging a spot in the Guinness World Record Book. They accomplished that feat when 35,000 poker players all played online poker at the same time at the same poker room, which was of course PokerStars.

Then this summer, PokerStars decided they wanted to out-do themselves so they had a World Record Week promotion and hosted another Guinness World Record Book tournament. That was in July, when 65,000 players showed up to set another world record. And now, PokerStars is at it again, trying to top themselves by hosting another Guinness World Record tournament!

It happens this Sunday, December 27th at 14:45 EST and it puts the other two Guinness tournaments to shame in terms of prize pools! This event will have a massive $300,000 guaranteed prize pool and the first place finisher will pocket at least $50,000! This is three times the last total prize pool in July which was only $100k! And to make sure every player can afford to play, the buy-in to take your shot at World record fame and $300k is only ONE Dollar! Plus PokerStars is running a whole schedule of satellite qualifiers with buy-ins of just a dime or five little Frequent Player Points (FPPs)! Satellite qualifiers are running now until Sunday afternoon and you can find them in the PokerStars lobby in the ‘Tourney’ and ‘Special’ tabs.

To register directly for the ‘World Record’ event, find the Tournament ID# 234567890 in the same place as the satellites and pay the buy-in of only $1.00! For this special event, no late registration allowed and the tourney will fill up fast - so don’t delay!

When the last Guinness was held in July, all seats were taken the day before the tournament, leaving many players on the rail to just watch the fun. So if you don’t want to just be a railbird, you better stake out your seat NOW because with $300k up for grabs, this will be a sell-out event! Not only will you be in line for a share of the cash but all players who participate in the Guinness event will receive a certificate confirming they participated in the world record tournament!
